Little is Much

This week Lon Solomon Ministries (LSM) celebrates our 5th anniversary. To be honest, this ministry was never really in my thoughts or plans, but it was God’s plan.

When I left McLean Bible Church in September 2017, I literally had no idea what God had for me, if anything at all, as far as ministry goes. For months before this when people asked me what I was going to do next in the Lord’s service, I could only say, “I am totally spent. I've got nothing left to give right now”. And that was truly how I felt. I had said yes to God, when as a young believer, He had called me to preach. I did just that to the best of my abilities by the power of the Holy Spirit for almost 38 years as a Senior Pastor. But saying yes to God does not include retirement!

The elders at McLean Bible Church had decided to discontinue the radio ministry and that all contracts with the church would end on December 31, 2017. This included both the 30-minute sermons (So What? Radio) as well as the 60-second "Not a Sermon, Just a Thought” ads. While not surprising, I had to decide at that moment what God wanted me to do. God had bigger plans, although I did not know at the time what that looked like.

So, 5 years ago this month, after much prayer, we decided to step out in faith and launch Lon Solomon Ministries. The first thing we had to do was to take over the radio contracts from McLean Bible Church and keep the SO WHAT? Radio sermons and the Not a Sermon, Just a Thought gospel centered ads on the air.  This transition became official on January 7, 2018, and by God’s grace, So What? Radio sermons and the Not a Sermon ads did not miss one single week of airtime!

Today, So What? Radio is broadcast on over 1000 stations nationwide with the half hour sermons reaching countless people with the WORD of God and the hope that is in Christ alone.

Not a Sermon, Just a Thought ads continue in the DC area, but this year with the money that the Lord has provided, we decided to do a gospel message outreach and launch Not a Sermon, Just a Thought (NAS) in varies cities across the country. We are now airing NAS on secular radio stations in several cities across the country, including Austin, Los Angeles, Chicago, Boston, Atlanta, Nashville, Tampa, Orlando, Denver, Miami and Seattle. We plan to add more cities as the Lord provides. Listeners are directed to our website, www.notasermon.com, where they will be presented with the gospel and can listen to my story of how Jesus radically changed my life.

What God has done and is doing at LSM in 5 short years is beyond what I could have thought possible, and it is humbling. Where there seemed to be no way, no money, no plan, I am reminded that indeed, little is much when God is in it.

Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us. Ephesians 3:20

So He was saying, “What is the kingdom of God like, and to what shall I compare it? It is like a mustard seed, which a man took and threw into his own garden; and it grew and became a tree, and the birds of the air nested in its branches.” Luke 13:18-19

I first heard your "Not a Sermon..." on Sirius Family Talk. I thought, "Oh! How unique!" and it made me think! Then last night I had the Sirius channel on to help me sleep and I woke to hearing the last half of your "fleas" recording. I got up and jotted your name down and went back to sleep. I have enjoyed listening to several episodes today -- thank you! Yours is a voice, you are a vessel, I was divinely led to listen to!!

I am very angry at David zplstt fir meticulously railroaded lon Solomon out of MBC

When I look at David Platt I sees a man disconnected to the people who preaches at rather than to the congregation

Also Mr Mr Platts eyes are colorless orbs avoiding eye contact ad he pounds his messages home

He's on a power trip of self promotion a selfish man gull of person power agenda
